We're HERE

Hello dear friends and family! We have arrived at La Senda safe and sound.  The flights went very smoothly and we met up easily with our members in Atlanta and met up with Steve right on time.  He took us to a Guatemalan fast food restaurant called Pollo Campero where we enjoyed chicken and french fries.  Next we drove about an hour to La Senda, got our assignments for the week, took a tour of the property and everything that goes on at La Senda, and have already begun a soccer game.  Everyone seems to have fallen in love with it here already.  However, we're all pretty exhausted due to our extremely early morning and long day so please pray for strength and multiplied rest.  Internet it very slow and not the easiest to come by so we may not be posting quite as often as we hoped but stay tuned every now and then for updates!

A New Year

Another year has passed and it is that time again to make a trip to Guatemala.  This is Laura Smith, bringing you information about the 2012 New Hope Ministries team to La Senda, Guatemala.  Our team is made up of 7 Asbury University students of all classes who are about to embark on our adventure on Monday, July 30th.  5 of our team members will be leaving from Lexington, KY and we will meet up with our other 2 members in Atlanta.  Please be praying for us as we finish up packing and get ready to leave.  Also pray for safe travels, health, enough rest, and our time with the kids.  May it be a blessed week with our brothers and sisters in Christ.  We will try to provide updates each day we are there so stay tuned for insight into all our activities.
